Why is overtaking in our town centre traffic circle encouraged when all roads leading off are single carriageway? It’s enough to drive a lady dilly.

I have travelled the High Street daily, watching the traffic increase year upon year, especially in the summer. My commutes have been incident free so far but for how long?

“I witnessed some argy-bargy one Sunday after church.”

I enter and cruise around the circle, before indicating to exit left only to find a vehicle on my right. Presumably the offenders think it’s a dual carriageway! The guilty parties are never locals so I forgive there naivety. But I cannot excuse blatant rudeness and it tests my patience when they pull in behind me and tailgate before thundering off past.

I witnessed some “argy-bargy” one Sunday after church. Presumably the two cars hit one another because of the confusion. They appeared to be out-of-towners as I did not recognize either from Church. It was a sorry sight indeed. Two cars bent out of shape. Occupants shaken. Island garden brickwork damaged. Concerned onlookers, including children.

I predict worse to come when holiday makers arrive who don’t know the roads.

Cherry Lane, Knobble Hill
